{ CARLOS SÁNCHEZ
WRAPPED IN STRANDS OF FIST AND BONE
THE BASICS!

FULL NAME: Carlos Luis Sánchez
NICKNAMES: No. Just don't.
AGE & DOB: November 1 | 25
HOMETOWN: Deck
RANK: Seven of Clubs
PB: Shiloh Fernandez

APPEARANCE!
open up your eyes you can see the flames

Carlos stands about 5'11, with very dark brown hair and olive skin. His eyes are unexpectedly light and green, something inherited from his anglo mother, but most of the rest of his features come from his father's side of the family. He has a lean build, and can look thin in street clothes, but when he's dressed in field gear for training, it's easy to see that Carlos is much more built than he seems at first glance.

He has several tattoos, and his left ear is pierced in two places. Off-duty, his sense of style runs to jeans and t-shirts. Definitely nothing particularly over the top, and being from a working class family, nothing particularly expensive. The one thing he does spend on is his boots, but he wears them to death, so he considers it worth it. He wears a silver stud in the shape of a star and a hoop in his ear.

PERSONALITY!
open up your wings to speak

Carlos is quiet, and was shy as a teenager. Now in his twenties, he's more than willing to speak up when he either feels like it or thinks it's necessary. Carlos is the type to think things through in a measured sort of way before he speaks or acts. Some people are of the opinion Carlos' more methodical, measured style is enough to make people think he couldn't necessarily make split-second decisions if he had to. It's why he hasn't been pushed to challenge to Eight or Nine to officially take the job of Assistant Head of Security for the Clubs.

His quiet ways give Carlos, at times, a tendency towards a depressive frame of mind. He has a tendency to internalize most of his problems, and that doesn't necessarily lead to the most healthy outlook. He can be down more often than average. Still, it isn't quite a case of clinical depression so much as an inclination towards moodiness. Carlos isn't given to extreme moods in either direction, which some people think of as boring, some people think of as refreshing, and Carlos calls being a fucking regular human being, thank you.

BIOGRAPHY!
feathered by the moonlight falling down on me

Carlos is smack dab in the middle of five kids, and was raised in Town by his parents, both Clubs. His father, Felipe, is a contractor who worked in residential new construction in Mexico before he found the Deck - and his mother, Bethany, is a landscaper and gardener from an old Deck family. They met through work, got married, and had in exhausting succession an entire passel of Anglo-Latino kids (Victoria, Cristian, him, then Matteo and Alicia). It was a crowded house growing up, and Carlos early on got in the habit of sneaking out just to have room to actually think.

Sneaking out, of course, led to things less harmless than sitting in a park and doodling, especially when he met Ty Kagan and got dragged along into all the myriad trouble the Kagan twins could get into. While Felipe didn't strictly disapprove of Carlos being best friends with a boy that was only half-jokingly referred to as the Club prince, he was never a big fan of the scrapes they got into together, and for a while -
especially when both Ty and Carlos were talking about leaving the Deck to join a military unit - the relationship between Carlos and his father was s little strained. It continued to be, even as Carlos turned fifteen and started challenging up, quickly outpacing his father's rank of Four by the time he was eighteen. The decision to join the guards with Ty was the cause of more strain and fighting; Felipe had had too many bad experiences with enforcement types in Mexico to much care for the idea of his son being one, and Carlos moved into the Castle at the point, ostensibly to focus more on his training.

Since then, Carlos continued to challenge upwards, finally settling at Seven at the age of twenty-two and not budging further, despite cajoling from his best friend. Become an Eight and he has to be officially an authority, after all, and he doesn't really think that's his thing.
